MDG Team Wins RTD Project in Denver
In August, Denver's Regional Transportation District (RTD) issued an RFP for A&E design services for their new Weston Street Division. This proposed facility, near 31st and Weston Streets in Denver, will be a 150-bus maintenance and storage facility.

Together with the two parent firms, MDG put together a winning team for this proposal: MDG as the prime consulting firm, providing project management, programming, and planning maintenance equipment; RNL Design providing architecture and project coordination; Carter & Burgess, Inc. providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering as well as traffic engineering. In September, it was announced that the team had won this project. The contract was awarded in October. The project began in December.

Lacey, Washington
Carter & Burgess was awarded a contract with the city of Lacey for the Maintenance & Operations Facility Master Plan. MDG is assisting Carter & Burgess by providing functional design input and equipment selection, specifications, and layout services.

SunTran - Tucson, Arizona
GLHN, an architectural firm in Tucson, is heading the team for the SunTran Bus Storage and Maintenance Facility. Carter & Burgess and RNL as well as MDG are on this full-discipline planning and design team. MDG was selected to program, master plan, and develop functional design criteria for the new facility.

Long Beach, California
MDG served as the city's consultant to develop design/ build documentation used to select a design/build contractor. The documentation established minimum design criteria for final design and construction of the 20-acre site. MDG has continued through the design and construction phases.

BART General Engineering - Oakland, California
This Carter & Burgess prime contract includes the expansion of BART's Concord Shop. MDG is responsible for equipment selection and coordination, including all rail car lifts, turntables, truck lifts, bridge and jib cranes, and machine shop equipment.

Eagle County, Colorado
Together with RNL, MDG is working on this project to develop a shared transportation facility for Eagle County Regional Transportation Authority and the Eagle County Road and Bridge Department. MDG's role includes developing a detailed space needs program, design criteria, site master plan, conceptual design and schematic design documents, equipment planning, and budget schedule.

Springs Transit - Colorado Springs, Colorado
Along with RNL and Carter & Burgess, MDG is on the planning team for this expansion/ remodel of the Springs Transit Operating Base. MDG's effort included evaluating the existing facility for functional deficiencies and cost impact of equipment-related facility budget costs, as well as master planning to accommodate future fleet growth.
